Is a support and software upgrade guarantee available but not required?

Yes! At Connect Imaging, the support and software upgrade guarantee is not a disguised software services payment. If you choose not to subscribe to the agreement, there is no restriction on using your current version software and hardware. Those with the simplest systems sometimes choose that option.

An option for clients who want to save money is our workday only technical support. This option still includes live support, plus automatic upgrades of software and hardware.
 
Why it matters: Some PACS vendors offer a low down payment, with a required monthly payment. Read the fine print carefully. What may appear to be a lease or a purchase financed over time may instead be a contract to purchase PACS services for a specified time. At the end of the period for which you have contracted, PACS services may continue at the same monthly rate, or may increase. Under this system, your PACS usage costs will never decrease.

In a true lease, ownership of the PACS is collateral for the lease. At the end of the leasing period, your facility will own the PACS. Monthly costs now drop to the prorated cost of whatever service contract option you have chosen.
