Yes! The uptime of most Connect Imaging installations is actually 100%.
Why it matters: Most vendors promise uptime of 99.9% or better. Some promise 99.99% or better. But even 99.99% translates to your PACS system not being able to process studies for almost 9 hours per year. That’s equivalent to more than a full working day, in total.
Ask any prospective PACS vendor what you get should your PACS be down for more than the guaranteed uptime. At best, you may receive a modest rebate on part of your support contract. Protect yourself. Ask to see hard data on the historical uptime of installed sites.
