This release contains several feature changes, mostly related to text notes, PRs, and KOs. Text notes have been extended to include reviewer and notification sections as in ViewBox. Application of PRs to lossy-download images has been changed so that annotations can be displayed while the invalid window/level settings are reset. The display area has been increased by decreasing the size of other elements on the panels. An referring physician name type has been added to accommodate systems where the referring physician’s name is in DICOM format (separated by carets ['^']).
Software
ConnectWeb 2.0.3.0
Dashboard 1.1.3707.27639
This release contains an additional tab for tracking discrepancies in extended text notes. It also treats date/time fields in a more user-friendly manner and includes FileRoom and StudyChanger services in the status list.
ViewBox 5.1.1.3
This release extends the text notes feature to permit review and notification of discrepancies. In addition to the changes to the text notes form, this includes a followup list on the worklist for any unnotified studies and display of the text note when a study is marked read if review is required.
ConnectWeb 2.0.0.6
This is a major release with a substantially rewritten NetClient that includes many features formerly only available in ViewBox, and which handles non-image objects. There are now two versions of NetClient, a basic viewer and advanced viewer. In addition, Active Directory can be used to control login, and site security has been tightened. There have also been several bug fixes and user interface refinements, including new toolbuttons in the viewers.
Some of the improvements to the basic viewer include:
- Series view with reference lines
- Initial display in series view
- Multiple image/series selection and manipulation
- Navigation thumbnails, including series rearrangement
- Presentation states are applied
- Key objects are displayed
- Contents of structured reports are displayed
Additional features are available in the advanced viewer:
- Two display panels can be displayed, with ability to fetch and display a prior study in the second panel beside the current study.
- 3D cursor
- Ability to create presentation states and key objects
- Ability to split and merge series
- Palette display protocol with drag and drop of series to one of four viewports
Improvements to the website include:
- Active Directory user authentication for login
- Ability to launch additional Connect windows from home page
- Access to just key objects and associated images from a series view
- Improved, more user-friendly admin page
ViewBox 5.0.0.14
This is a major release in which worklist management has been redone and should better support larger worklists, we support special handling for STAT studies (Meditech only at present), multiple LUT in MG images, and user profile templates, and PCGuard licensing has been added with four licensed options. Also included is a utility for converting database annotations and key images into PRs and KOs respectively. There are also a number of bug fixes, a newer version of CDBrowser and DicomObjects, and the Print feature is available to all users (if configured) instead of requiring a registry key.
The menu options for removing studies have changed and users may need brief training on the new options. "Remove read studies" now leaves read priors in the worklist if there is an unread study for the same patient. This essentially adds another option besides automatically deleting aged studies (read or unread), removing studies as they are read, or clearing the worklist. It may be especially useful for radiologists whose reading schedule is erratic -- they could fire it off at the end of the day.
FileRoom 5.0.0.3
This release merges FileRoom and FileRmSvc, and includes upgrade paths from FileRoom 4.0.0 and FileRmSvc 3.5.1. It uses the service & log-reader architecture so that all functionality is implemented in services. Coordination of forwarding and prefetch has also been moved to the database, permitting an API (application programming interface) that other vendors' products (such as MRS) can call to generate forwards, and also permitting easier management of forwards through a user interface and greater robustness when some forwards fail. Body part matching has been made configurable so it can be adapted to individual clients' needs. Purge has been moved to a separate service, which is an installation option, and StudyChanger is also now part of the build. A manual for tech support administration of FileRoom is now included.
FileRoom also uses a new web-accessible licensing with up to four license options, which are unlimited volume, Dashboard & FileRoom UI grid interface, archive purge, and API (for MRS). Limited-volume license holders are permitted 10,000 studies/year.
Study priority information is now processed and stored. Also, additional information about images and non-image objects is stored because they are expected to be useful in the future. Header tags with multiple value headers (e.g., referring physician) can now be matched for a selective forward.
