May 14, 2010 - ConnectWeb 2.0.3.0

This release contains several feature changes, mostly related to text notes, PRs, and KOs.  Text notes have been extended to include reviewer and notification sections as in ViewBox.  Application of PRs to lossy-download images has been changed so that annotations can be displayed while the invalid window/level settings are reset.  The display area has been increased by decreasing the size of other elements on the panels.  An referring physician name type has been added to accommodate systems where the referring physician's name is in DICOM format (separated by carets ['^']).

March 12, 2010 - Dashboard 1.1.3707.27639

This release contains an additional tab for tracking discrepancies in extended text notes.  It also treats date/time fields in a more user-friendly manner and includes FileRoom and StudyChanger services in the status list.

February 19, 2010 - ViewBox 5.1.1.3

This release extends the text notes feature to permit review and notification of discrepancies.  In addition to the changes to the text notes form, this includes a followup list on the worklist for any unnotified studies and display of the text note when a study is marked read if review is required.

December 11, 2009 - ConnectWeb 2.0.0.6

This is a major release with a substantially rewritten NetClient that includes many features formerly only available in ViewBox, and which handles non-image objects.  There are now two versions of NetClient, a basic viewer and advanced viewer. In addition, Active Directory can be used to control login, and site security has been tightened.  There have also been several bug fixes and user interface refinements, including new toolbuttons in the viewers.

Some of the improvements to the basic viewer include:

  • Series view with reference lines
  • Initial display in series view
  • Multiple image/series selection and manipulation
  • Navigation thumbnails, including series rearrangement
  • Presentation states are applied
  • Key objects are displayed
  • Contents of structured reports are displayed

Additional features are available in the advanced viewer:

  • Two display panels can be displayed, with ability to fetch and display a prior study in the second panel beside the current study.
  • 3D cursor
  • Ability to create presentation states and key objects
  • Ability to split and merge series
  • Palette display protocol with drag and drop of series to one of four viewports

Improvements to the website include:

  • Active Directory user authentication for login
  • Ability to launch additional Connect windows from home page
  • Access to just key objects and associated images from a series view
  • Improved, more user-friendly admin page

October 26, 2009 - ViewBox 5.0.0.14

This is a major release in which worklist management has been redone and should better support larger worklists, we support special handling for STAT studies (Meditech only at present), multiple LUT in MG images, and user profile templates, and PCGuard licensing has been added with four licensed options.  Also included is a utility for converting database annotations and key images into PRs and KOs respectively.  There are also a number of bug fixes, a newer version of CDBrowser and DicomObjects, and the Print feature is available to all users (if configured) instead of requiring a registry key.

The menu options for removing studies have changed and users may need brief training on the new options.  "Remove read studies" now leaves read priors in the worklist if there is an unread study for the same patient.  This essentially adds another option besides automatically deleting aged studies (read or unread), removing studies as they are read, or clearing the worklist.  It may be especially useful for radiologists whose reading schedule is erratic -- they could fire it off at the end of the day.

July 6, 2009 - FileRoom 5.0.0.3

This release merges FileRoom and FileRmSvc, and includes upgrade paths from FileRoom 4.0.0 and FileRmSvc 3.5.1.  It uses the service & log-reader architecture so that all functionality is implemented in services.  Coordination of forwarding and prefetch has also been moved to the database, permitting an API (application programming interface) that other vendors' products (such as MRS) can call to generate forwards, and also permitting easier management of forwards through a user interface and greater robustness when some forwards fail.  Body part matching has been made configurable so it can be adapted to individual clients' needs.  Purge has been moved to a separate service, which is an installation option, and StudyChanger is also now part of the build. A manual for tech support administration of FileRoom is now included.

FileRoom also uses a new web-accessible licensing with up to four license options, which are unlimited volume, Dashboard & FileRoom UI grid interface, archive purge, and API (for MRS). Limited-volume license holders are permitted 10,000 studies/year.

Study priority information is now processed and stored.  Also, additional information about images and non-image objects is stored because they are expected to be useful in the future.  Header tags with multiple value headers (e.g., referring physician) can now be matched for a selective forward.

February 6, 2009 - ViewBox 4.0.3.1

This release includes MRS integration and support for Mammo CAD SR.  When run along with the report generation program from Mammography Reporting System, annotation of different types that are made with ViewBox are automatically exported to the MRS report and added as findings of the three most common types of findings (microcalcification, masses, and densities). This release also allows MG image transformation to be disabled for Fuji customers, allows HIPAA logging to be disabled for standalone installations, and remembers the title in the create-key-object form.

January 13, 2009 - ConnectView 1.0.2

This release is compatible with an archive that includes non-image objects (although it ignores them), displays DICOM-format patient names in a more friendly manner, has a unique GUID so it can be installed on the same server as ConnectWeb, and jumps to the first reference image (though this feature will become obsolete with key objects).

November 10, 2008 - ViewBox 4.0.1.47

This release handles presentation states and key objects, can both display and create them, can send them back to PACS, and uses a unique UID root for created objects.  (It can also continue to use the database-based annotations and/or key images instead.)

It can disable preloading and cine decompression in order to handle large cine clips.  (Note that disabling cine decompression results in a slight hesitation before a cine clip is played.)  It can create AVI as well as JPG files, and the AVI compression codec is configurable.  It can burn to CD, DVD, or Bravo.

It can use the higher resolution of the Totoku 15MC monitors.

Splitting series can be disabled, or users can merge a specific series which has been split.  Anatomical sorting can also be turned off.

Scrolling through a series now does display each an every image at least briefly.  (Except for fast scroll with middle mouse drag.)  There have been some optimizations to turn off smoothing during scrolling, hotkeys are provided for W/L presets, and configuration files are included for the ShuttlePro v.2.

Forwarded studies are handled a bit differently.  An alert is displayed when new images are received for a study that is currently being viewed.  Changed demographics result in a change to the icon in the worklist.  A study's read status is now updated when it is added to the worklist, and the alternate patient ID is always extracted correctly.

An attempt is made to reconnect to the database each time the user or the program does something that requires database access.  Although errors may occur once (or features may fail silently), re-attempting should succeed (provided all infrastructure is working).

It can display a non-mammo prior for a mammo study, and can automatically display a prior when a mammo study is loaded.

There are also some minor changes, such as displaying the patient's age in the worklist, displaying the study time in the search form, scrolling in the text report, and applying W/L presets only to the selected series/image.

September 18, 2008 - QAManager 4.1.0.9

This release contains a number of important changes.  It now uses a local SQL Express database instead of an Access database, and includes a fix to QASvc to prevent multiple studies from being placed in the same folder. It handles presentation states and can delete them, and displays and can delete key objects.

This version can also stop studies which are missing accession numbers, displays more columns in the study grid, and has a number of cosmetic changes including form size and placement and new toolbar icons.

July 1, 2008 - StudyManager 1.1.0.176

This release provides several major features: retrieve from PACS; merge studies; provide a way to split studies when some or all orders are missing from modality worklist; delete images or series; print images; edit mammo headers; and save interim edits to a study.

It also contains some minor feature changes, such as MQSA-required headers when printing MG images 1x1, the ability to assign study orders in series mode, sending in lossless compressed if possible.  More information is displayed in the grids than previously, and it is now possible to customize their appearance.

June 9, 2008 - DicomDistributor 1.2.0.3

This release provides the ranked subscription feature.  This feature allows overlapping subscriptons (e.g. STAT studies and CT studies) to be defined, but ranked so that a study which matches both subscriptions (when both are active) only goes to one of the recipients.  It also looks for "STAT" in the study description as well as the study reason field.

March 11, 2008 - DicomForward 3.5.2.3

This release allows forwarding to be restricted to a time range, a feature which is needed for Phoenix. The same time range is used for all days of the week. Ranges which include midnight are also possible.

January 7, 2008 - CDBrowser 3.5.0.2

This version includes several new features and some bug fixes.  Also, the icons have been updated to match ViewBox.

The new features are: 1. Displays a splash screen during startup.  (Note that the user must click on the splash screen to dismiss it, so it is not quite the usual splash screen.  2. Provides a 1..2..3 guided tour of program features for new/infrequent users.  3. Provides a link to our website.

January 7, 2008 - TechWks 3.7.0.4

This version contains two major new features and one perfomance improvement.  It also includes the new version of CDBrowser (version 3.5.0.2).

The first new feature is the ability to design the splash screen for CDBrowser. The second feature is the interface to the Bravo CD/DVD burner.

Images are now sent in batches, several images per association.  This will result in somewhat faster transmission of studies.
