FileRoom Service runs as a service on the Windows 2000
server. As a service, it is designed to run without
user interaction. When running, it displays a small
icon in the system tray at the bottom right hand side
of the desktop; when the icon is clicked, the transaction
log for the service is displayed.
FileRoom Service performs all the functions of FileRoom,
with the exception of prefetch, forwarding, and HIS/RIS
integration.
- Stores images in a file structure that mimics the
conventional file room on the server disk storage
system.
- Configurable to store images in uncompressed, JPEG
lossless, or JPEG2000 lossless form. Studies received
in lossy compressed form are stored in the same form.
- Builds SQL table entries for images for later query
and retrieval.
- Maintains HIPAA logging database for all workstations.
- Automatically updates patient name in SQL database
based on most recently received study.
