Everybody wants the right tool to do the
job, not more and not less. We at Connect Imaging are
no different, and since we design and write all our
own software we can make sure each software module does
the job it is designed to do.
The result of this philosophy is a stable
of over fifteen different software products, many of
them with multiple programs, that are available for
us to apply to any specific situation. We have grouped
them under three general categories:
Backoffice products are those modules that run a server
in the data storage closet, not seen by the technologist
or radiologist, but nevertheless critical to the operation
of the PACS. Such products include module to receive studies from modalities, respond to Query/Retrieve requests from the archive, and a DICOM Modality Worklist
Provider. Other back office products provide an easy way to distribute studies to multiple locations, as well as provide on-line monitoring of the overall health of the PACS.
Specialty products are those modules that perform certain
specialized tasks. They include products for printing
and sending DICOM studies, products for capturing images
from legacy devices and film scanners, and various quality
control products.
The products most seen by radiologists, clinicians,
and technologists are the various viewing products.
They include robust workstation products for the radiology
department, clinical review workstations for referring
physicians, and remote viewing products for delivering
studies over the internet.
