In a perfect DICOM world, all modalities support DICOM Modality Worklist, only one study is referenced with each study order, and technologists always put images and series in the correct order, and complete one study before they start another. However, this is not a perfect world, which is why Study Manager was created.
Study Manager allows the technologist to merge and split studies, match studies with study orders, and rearrange images within series and series within the study. In addition, paper documents can be scanned and added to any study. Studies are either sent to Study Manager from the modality, or retrieved from the PACS with Study Manager. Once the study has been fixed, it can be sent to the PACS, and also printed to any DICOM printer. Mismatched studies, orphaned or partial studies, and studies in the wrong order are all a thing of the past with Study Manager.
- Receives studies from modalities for matching with study orders for modalities that do not support DICOM Modality Worklist.
- Allows query and retrieve of studies from one or more PACS.
- Reads studies from a file folder.
- Fetches study orders from a DICOM Modality Worklist server.
- Allows rearranging of images in series and series in study when images are sent in incorrect order from the modality. Images can also be flipped or rotated.
- Images or series in a study can be deleted.
- Matches studies to study orders with the ability to split and merge studies.
- Scans paper documents and attaches them to a study.
- Allows editing of selected DICOM header information, including mammogram headers.
- Prints studies to any DICOM printer.
- Supports all standard DICOM transfer protocols, including Explicit and Implicit Little Endian, lossless or lossy JPEG, and lossless or lossy JPEG2000.
