ConnectWeb

Description

ConnectWeb is an ideal method for access to DICOM studies from within a facility. Because of high bandwidth available from within a facility, users can download studies from the archive within seconds. Any computer with Internet Explorer installed on it is a potential viewing station for image studies from the PACS.

Outside the facility, ConnectWeb has customization features that make it easy to use for referring physicians or facility personnel needing access to studies outside the facility. Compression can be set by modality, by user, to give the fastest possible download times while maintaining image quality. In addition, users can be given full or restricted access to studies, so that HIPAA compliance and privacy of patient information can be maintained.

Finally, it is possible to configure ConnectWeb to work with many Electronic Medical Record systems so that studies can be accessed directly, without requiring a separate logon and database search for the study.

Features and Benefits

  • ActiveX web component is downloaded automatically from web server during first logon. Any updates to the component are automatically downloaded at the next logon.
  • Images are downloaded in DICOM format to client system to allow fast manipulation and display of studies in image view or stacked view.
  • Download can be configured for the quality level of JPEG lossy compression or compression ratio of JPEG2000 lossy compression. Individual images or series can be downloaded in lossless compression for a diagnostic interpretation.
  • Display layout of images (e.g. 1×1, 2×3) can be changed at any time.
  • Measurement tools are available.
